Description: NIT Rourkela was established as Regional Engineering College (REC) Rourkela on 15 August 1961 under the then Chief Minister of Odisha, Biju Patnaik and its foundation stone was laid by the then Prime Minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru. It was granted autonomy and functional independence by the Ministry of Human Resource Development in 2002, thus becoming one of the National Institutes of Technology.

Applications are invited on prescribed format for the following assignment in a purely time bound research project undertaken in the Department of Life Science of the Institute.

  1. Name of the Temporary Post : Junior Research Fellow – 01
  2. Name of the Research Project : “To study the effect of major immunodominant antigens of mycobacteria on calcimycin-induced autophagy in infected macrophages”
  3. Name of the Sponsoring Agency : SERB, DST, Government of India
  4. Tenure of the Project : April, 2016 to April, 2019
  5. Tenure of the Assignment: 3 year, extendable annually till completion of project, subject to satisfactory performance.

Job Description: Research work related to project.

Consolidated monthly compensation / Fellowship: Rs. 25,000/- PM, 1 st and 2nd year RS. 28,000/- PM, 3 rd year

Essential Qualifications and experience: M.Sc. in Life Science, Botany, Biotechnology, microbiology, Biochemistry and allied biological sciences with 60% marks and with valid NET or GATE

Desirable Qualifications/ Experiences: Prior working experience in animal tissue culture
